Apart from other things, one of the things I’m having
difficulty in adjusting with my office is that I missed on all sales! Yes,
almost all!
Throughout my 5 years of college life, I have hardly missed
on my favourite sales! I used to plan out in advance only. Even if I knew my
friends were planning an outing that day, I used to put in the sales place
somehow in our outing map so that I didn’t miss it. It has been many-a-times
when I noticed “Sales” put in bold caps lock letter on newspapers and magazines
being read by others and I used to snatch politely took away them and
then, rushed there to not miss it.
Now, imagine my horror this July when the situations went
like this with me in my office>
Day1: I’m deeply
immersed in writing my article content when I see the message flash on my cell:
Upto 70%Off at Accessorize! Hurry! I actually get up from my chair and I’m about to put my
pen & pencils in my bag when sanity takes over me at the right time and I’m
reminded that I’m in my office and not in my college! So, I sit back down after
the puzzled expression I get from my colleague and start writing my article
again. Hufff!
Day 4: I’m
sitting relaxed, reading a research related book and sipping on my article when
my phone rings. I pick it up and a voice shouts out “There’s Flat 30% off today
at Forever21. Kitne baje chalna hai?”
I go numb for a second or two and then, I tell that friend of mine> did you
forget? I have a job now! Call you later, cya! Now, Forever 21 is like my
emotional therapist (I don’t know if it’s
a word but I’m not kidding!). So, imagine how heart breaking it was.
Even writing this hurts! So, just imagine there were many
days like this and I missed many. I could only make for “Madame” sale because
its store is on my way. But even after going there, I ended up buying from the
fresh stock :|
And, now coming to the shopping haul, I haven’t included my
entire shopping because it would have been a very heavy picture post then.
