Inglot eyeshadows are such a treat! I know the price
hike has been a turnoff, especially since the packaging remains the same but
I’m glad that at least the cardboard boxes are provided. I just wish they
provided a refund for the empty round palettes. That is really annoying.
Anyhow, today I’m reviewing a matte black eyeshadow which I think is a staple
in your makeup kit if you are really into eye makeup. A matte black eyeshadow is
very versatile. You can create a smokey eye using just a simple matte black
eyeshadow, it can be used in crease to define eyes and it can also be used to
set kajal/eyeliner from smudging. Additionally, it can also be used on the
scalp if you have black hair and lack a lustrous mane :P
My
experience:
All Inglot eyeshadows come in square refills now which
house more quantity of product but with the same non travel friendly packaging.
Inglot AMC Freedom System Eyeshadow Square “63” is a basic black matte
eyeshadow which is devoid of shimmer. You can see extremely tiny shimmer in it
but it comes out as all matte on eyes. In one swipe, the pigmentation comes out
average. But with two swipes, the pigmentation is quite intense. It’s not the
blackest black eyeshadow I have ever come across but I’m happy with the
pigmentation. The blackest black eyeshadows I have encountered have a lot of
fall out issue which becomes time consuming for me, having to tap the brush
every now and then to prevent any fall out on the face. There’s a very little
fall out issue with it. I always apply a lot of transparent powder underneath
my eyes so that the fall out is taken care of.
Matte eyeshadows have a reputation for being
dry and chalky but this matte eyeshadow is smooth, blends well and goes evenly
upon the eyelids. The texture isn’t
patchy at all. I mostly use black eyeshadow to make a crease and as a blending
shade when doing brown smokey eyes. The staying power is pretty good. It stays
on my very oily eyelids with a base underneath for more 5 hours. After 5 hours,
I could see some fading but no thankfully, no smudging! A primer will
definitely help increase its staying power.
In short,
-
It’s a lovely matte black shade without extremely
tiny shimmer that aren’t visible on the eyelids.
-
The pigmentation is good and buildable.
-
The texture is smooth and not patchy.
-
It blends in easily.
-
The fallout is less. Always tap the brush
before applying to get out the extra.
-
The staying power is good.
-
Inglot does not test on animals. Yay!
