Hey everyone!
Today, I would be telling as to how to apply blush
to different face shapes.
Round
Face Shape
For women having round face shape, the blush should
be applied in such a way that some definition is added to their face. Blush
should be applied to the apple of the cheeks, taking it a little forward but
not too close to the nose. It should usually end under the iris of the eyes. If
the blush is taken too close to the nose, not only it would result in a clown
like result but the roundness would only emphasize your round face more. You
can also sweep it lightly towards the temples. Make sure to not apply the blush
in a round way as that would only emphasize the roundness of your face more. You can also apply blush starting from below the cheekbones and then extending it upwards vertically. This will give a slimmer look to round face shape.
Long
face shape
Applying blush on a long face should result in
creating an illusion of a width on the face. This is achieved by applying the
blush on the apples of the cheeks and extending it towards the ears, and not
extending it towards the temples. So, to balance the length of the face, the
blush here is applied in a horizontal direction.
Oval
face shape
An oval face shape can simply carry both of these
techniques. One can apply the blush just on the apple of the cheeks or after
applying the blush on the apple of the cheeks, extending it towards the temple.
Square
face shape
A square face usually has hard edges and blush is
applied in a way so that the edges look soft. The sides of the face are
straight here. Blush is applied here on the apple of cheeks, extending it
towards the temples. This is done so that face gets a lift. When the blush is
swept across the temples, it gives the illusion of lifting the eyes.
Heart
face shape/Inverted triangle face shape
To start with, heart shaped people already tend to
have a good bone structure. Here, the jawline is the narrowest part of your
face. So, the key is to soften the look here. The blush should be applied a
little downwards on the apple of cheeks and sweeping it horizontally then.
Diamond
face shape
If you have a diamond face shape, the cheekbones
area is wider whereas the forehead as well as the chin are pointed. The
cheekbones are very much defined here. So, to soften the overall look, the
blush looks best when applied to the apple of the cheeks and softly blended
then horizontally.

I’m no expert. I still have a long way to go in determining face shapes easily.
All these tips have been given by me after studying the face shapes a lot and
the tutorials based on them. Also, it’s very much possible that you fall into
more than one face shape category. Kate Perry is a very famous example of that.
I hope you found this useful.
